Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray (knee) probable Saturday vs. Lakers
Fri, Feb 21, 2025, 12:54 PM
NBA Injury Report
Jamal Murray (knee) is probable for Saturday's game against the Lakers.
Analysis: Murray has been dealing with inflammation in his left knee for some time, but the issue is unlikely to keep him out of Saturday's game. If Murray cannot play, Russell Westbrook will likely return to the starting lineup. The role change would raise Westbrook's fantasy ceiling.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon (calf) probable vs. Lakers Saturday
Fri, Feb 21, 2025, 12:50 PM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Gordon (calf) is probable to play against the Lakers on Saturday.
Analysis: Gordon should be good to go against Los Angeles as he continues to manage the calf injury that has forced him to miss plenty of time this season. If something changes and Gordon is sidelined, Russell Westbrook will likely slide into the starting lineup.
Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic pours in 26/17/9 with six triples
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 6:56 PM
Nikola Jokic stuffed the stat sheet on Thursday with 29 points (11-of-22 FGs), 17 rebounds, nine assists, one steal, one block and six three-pointers in a 129-115 win over the Hornets.
Analysis: Jokic turned in his typical dominant stat line, though he fell one assist shy of adding to his triple-double count. However, what was unique about this performance was his impact from beyond the arc. This was the third time that he has hit at least six triples in a game. Jokic set his career-high with seven in October, and he also knocked down six in a game back in 2017. He continues to find unique ways to dominate the game, and if Jokic can continue to be lethal from beyond the arc, Denver will only be harder to slow down.
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook records 8/3/7 line in return
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 6:40 PM
Russell Westbrook returned to the lineup on Thursday and finished with eight points (3-of-10 FGs), three rebounds, seven assists, one three-pointer and five turnovers against the Hornets.
Analysis: Westbrook finally returned to the lineup after missing Denver's last seven games with a hamstring injury. Westbrook had been starting prior to his injury, but he came off the bench in his first game back. It's unclear if Russ will eventually return to the starting unit, which would push Christian Braun to the bench. Westbrook wasn't great in 26 minutes in his return to the lineup, but he'll continue to play a significant role for Denver. However, if he remains in a reserve role, his fantasy upside will be limited.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray scores game-high 34 points Thursday
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 5:29 PM
Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 34 points (12-of-18 FGs), one rebound, four assists, two steals and seven three-pointers against the Hornets on Thursday.
Analysis: Murray dropped a career-high 55 points in his final game before the All-Star break, and in Denver's first game back, he was able to pick up right where he left off. He wasn't able to match that mark, but he did hit seven triples for a second straight game while leading the team in scoring. The Nuggets have won nine games in a row, and Murray's recent success has been a big reason for that. Murray has provided top five value in nine-cat leagues during this win streak. That level of production may not be sustainable, but managers should enjoy it while it lasts.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr. available Thurs.
Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 1:26 PM
Vinny Benedetto
Aaron Gordon (calf) and Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring) are available for Thursday's game against the Hornets.
Analysis: Gordon and Porter are good to go for the Nuggets' first game out of the All-Star break. During his pregame availability, Nuggets coach Michael Malone said neither player will be restricted. As a result, Julian Strawther and Zeke Nnaji's respective values will take significant hits.
Vlatko Cancar
Vlatko Cancar (knee) limited in practice Wednesday
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 12:26 PM
Brendon Vogt
Vlatko Cancar (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Cancar underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in early December, with it being announced at the time that he would be re-evaluated in eight weeks. His participation in Wednesday's practice is positive, even though he was not a full participant. Cancar's availability does not significantly impact the Nuggets' rotation.
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook (hamstring) off injury report
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 9:49 AM
NBA Injury Report
Russell Westbrook (hamstring) is off the injury report ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Hornets.
Analysis: Westbrook missed the Nuggets' final seven games before the break, but he'll return Thursday to face Charlotte. Russ hasn't officially been named to the starting five, but he started 20 straight before his injury, so there's a strong likelihood of him running with the first unit again. He averaged 14.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists across 30.1 minutes in those 20 starts. Christian Braun has been starting in place of Westbrook and will likely return to a reserve role if Russ moves back into the starting lineup.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr. probable Thurs.
Wed, Feb 19, 2025, 9:42 AM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Gordon (calf) and Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring) are probable for Thursday's matchup with the Hornets.
Analysis: With Gordon and Porter Jr. expected to return to their normal roles following the All-Star break, Zeke Nnaji and Julian Strawther could see their roles reduced significantly.
Christian Braun
Christian Braun drops 21 points, full stat line
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 6:05 PM
Christian Braun shot 7-of-13 from the field and 5-of-7 from the foul line in Wednesday's win over the Trail Blazers, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block, and two three-pointers in 45 minutes.
Analysis: Given how well he's played recently, Braun may not be thrilled with the All-Star break starting now. Over the past two weeks, he's provided third-round value in eight-cat formats, just outside the top 25. With Russell Westbrook (hamstring) expected back after the break, Nuggets coach Michael Malone has a difficult decision on his hands. Go back to Westbrook, who was playing well before his injury, or stick with Braun, who has the “hot hand.”
Zeke Nnaji
Zeke Nnaji records 16 points, six ‘stocks' vs. POR
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 6:04 PM
Zeke Nnaji accumulated 16 points (6-of-9 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, one assist, two steals, four blocks, and two three-pointers in 37 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: On Wednesday, Nnaji filled in for the injured Aaron Gordon. The 24-year-old forward played well, and his defensive contributions stand out: he tallied two steals and four blocked shots. Unfortunately, fantasy managers can't expect that consistently; if that were the case, Nnaji would be playing consistent rotation minutes when the Nuggets are whole. However, he's played well enough to get another look if Gordon cannot return immediately after the All-Star break.
Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic records 26/15/10/2 line vs. Portland
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 6:04 PM
Nikola Jokic accounted for 26 points (11-of-20 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 15 rebounds, 10 assists, and two steals in 36 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Jokic is up to a league-best 25 triple-doubles heading into the All-Star break, and he's one of the betting favorites for Most Valuable Player. Only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander heads into the break with shorter odds, as he boasts the combination of elite production and his team having the league's best record. Whether or not he wins MVP for the fourth time in five seasons, Jokic remains one of the NBA's best players and sits atop the fantasy basketball rankings.
Jamal Murray
Double-nickel: Jamal Murray scores career-high 55
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 6:03 PM
Jamal Murray shot 20-of-36 from the field and 8-of-9 from the foul line in Wednesday's 132-121 win over the Trail Blazers, scoring 55 points with four rebounds, five assists, two steals, and seven three-pointers in 42 minutes.
Analysis: Murray put on a show in Denver's final game before the All-Star break. No matter what Portland tried defensively, the Nuggets guard did what he wanted to get to his spots. Between Monday's game being a blowout and Murray getting ejected, he made up for lost time on Wednesday. He heads into the break, providing top-15 value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Denver only plays twice after the break to conclude Week 16, starting with the Hornets on February 20 (Charlotte's second game in as many nights).
Zeke Nnaji
DEN starts Murray, Braun, Strawther, Nnaji, Jokic
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 2:37 PM
NBA Lineups
Jamal Murray, Christian Braun, Julian Strawther, Zeke Nnaji, and Nikola Jokic will start Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: The Nuggets are without Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon, with the former missing a fourth straight game. Strawther will remain in the starting lineup, with Nnaji joining him as the other replacement. Strawther offers more reliable streaming value of the two, but Nnaji was productive in his most recent start (February 3 vs. New Orleans).
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray (knee) available Wednesday vs. POR
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 2:19 PM
Jamal Murray (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: No surprise here as Murray was initially listed as probable Wednesday. The 27-year-old point guard played 29 minutes Monday before he was ejected. Fantasy managers can insert Murray into lineups as usual Wednesday.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon (calf) out Wednesday vs. Blazers
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 2:15 PM
Aaron Gordon (calf) is out for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Gordon was initially listed as questionable as he continues to manage a right calf injury. Zeke Nnaji could see additional minutes off the bench with Gordon out Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.
Michael Porter
Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring) out Wednesday
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 2:13 PM
Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring) is out for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Porter Jr. missed Monday's game and was initially listed as questionable Wednesday, though he has since been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Julian Strawther could replace him in the starting lineup and would be worth consideration for fantasy managers in need of points and threes.
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook expected back after A-S break
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 1:27 PM
Vinny Benedetto
Per Nuggets coach Michael Malone, Russell Westbrook (hamstring) is expected to return after the All-Star break.
Analysis: Westbrook has been out since straining his left hamstring on January 31, with Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers being the seventh he's missed. Christian Braun returned to the starting lineup and has provided solid fantasy value in Westbrook's absence. Regardless of who starts next to Jamal Murray after the All-Star break, both players should offer solid deep-league value.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray (knee) probable Wednesday vs. POR
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 11:13 AM
NBA Injury Report
Jamal Murray (knee) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Murray was also probable for Monday's win over Portland. He played 29 minutes before being ejected. Look for him to assume his usual role as Denver's starting point guard.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr. questionable
Wed, Feb 12, 2025, 11:10 AM
NBA Injury Report
Aaron Gordon (calf) and Michael Porter Jr. (hamstring) are questionable for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: While Gordon played in Monday's win over Portland, Porter did not, with Julian Strawther replacing him in the starting lineup. With MPJ dealing with a strained left hamstring, fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility of Strawther making another start. He can provide points and 3-pointers for those needing production in those categories.
