Nikola Jokic
Jokic dominates Latvia with 39 points in victory
Sat, Aug 30, 2025, 7:18 AM
Nikola Jokic dominated Latvia on Saturday with 39 points (15-of-26 FGs), 10 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one three-pointer in an 84-80 victory.
Analysis: Jokic is typically only this aggressive offensively when he needs to be, and with this matchup being the closest of EuroBasket so far for Serbia, it isn't surprising that he was unstoppable, especially with his teammates not providing much help. Serbia moves to 3-0 in the tournament, and they'll go as far as Jokic takes them. More performances like this will make them difficult to beat.
Jonas Valanciunas
Jonas Valanciunas scores 14 points in loss
Sat, Aug 30, 2025, 6:07 AM
Jonas Valanciunas finished with 14 points (5-of-8 FGs), four rebounds and one block in a 107-88 loss to Germany on Saturday.
Analysis: Valanciunas has been one of the primary scoring options for Lithuania through their first three games of EuroBasket, but this was the first loss for them after they dominated Great Britain and Montenegro. Valanciunas will continue to play an important role for them moving forward, with their next game coming against Finland on Monday.
Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic double-doubles in win over Portugal
Fri, Aug 29, 2025, 10:28 AM
Nikola Jokic finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, a triple, two steals and two blocked shots across 23 minutes in Friday's 80-69 win over Portugal.
Analysis: Jokic led all scorers and rebounders in Serbia's double-digit win, and he posted a second straight double-double. Expect Joker to continue pacing his team in a number of categories throughout Eurobasket 2025 play.
Jonas Valanciunas
Jonas Valanciunas scores 19 points in 13 minutes
Fri, Aug 29, 2025, 8:39 AM
Jonas Valanciunas finished Friday's blowout win over Montenegro with 19 points, five rebounds, an assist, three triples and a block across 13 minutes.
Analysis: Lithuania dominated Montenegro 94-67, so JV didn't log big minutes, but he was able to make a huge impact in limited court time. Valanciunas' 19 points led his team, and he surprisingly cashed three triples along the way. Expect him to continue operating as Lithuania's leading scorer with bigger offensive performances in store for more competitive matchups.
Nikola Jokic
Jokic tallies 11/10/7 line in blowout win
Wed, Aug 27, 2025, 10:48 AM
Nikola Jokic recorded a double-double on Wednesday with 11 points (3-of-4 FGs), 10 rebounds and seven assists in a 98-64 win over Estonia.
Analysis: In typical Jokic fashion, he only took four shots during his 23 minutes because of how lopsided the score was; he isn't one to force shots when he doesn't need to. Jokic will continue to be the star of the show throughout EuroBasket, which should lead to better performances in the box score, assuming Serbia's future games are closer.
Jonas Valanciunas
Valanciunas scores game-high 18 points vs. Britain
Wed, Aug 27, 2025, 3:10 AM
Jonas Valanciunas finished with 18 points (7-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, one assist and one block in a 94-70 win over Great Britain on Wednesday.
Analysis: Lithuania kicked off Eurobasket with a convincing win over Great Britain, and Valanciunas, the lone NBA player on either roster, was the leading scorer and rebounder in this game. He'll continue to be a focal point for Lithuania throughout the tournament before heading to Denver to play behind Nikola Jokic next season.
Russell Westbrook
Stein: Kings maintain interest in adding Westbrook
Mon, Aug 25, 2025, 5:05 AM
Marc Stein
NBA insider Marc Stein reports the Kings still have interest in signing free agent guard Russell Westbrook.
Analysis: Since Westbrook hit free agency, the parties have been mutually interested in a partnership. However, Sacramento does need to open up a roster spot before making a move for the veteran point guard. While Malik Monk's name has been mentioned in trade rumors, Stein reported Sunday that the Kings are looking into ways to open up a spot on the perimeter without moving him. While Sacramento did add Dennis Schröder via sign-and-trade, another proven point guard still needs to be added to the roster. Devin Carter's name may be one to watch between now and the beginning of training camp as the Kings look to strengthen their roster.
Kessler Edwards
Kessler Edwards agrees to deal with Nuggets
Tue, Aug 12, 2025, 8:23 AM
Michael Scotto
HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported the Nuggets agreed to a deal with Kessler Edwards.
Analysis: Edwards, who spent last year on a two-way with Dallas, will now join the Nuggets, though the official terms of the deal weren't reported. However, with Denver already having 14 players under contract and all three two-way spots filled, this could be just a training camp deal for Edwards that isn't guaranteed. Still, he's been a solid player through the first four years of his career after being a second-round pick and could certainly work his way into a role with Denver, though it likely won't be a large one.
E.J. Liddell
E.J. Liddell grabs 11 rebounds vs. Milwaukee
Thu, Jul 10, 2025, 6:05 PM
E.J. Liddell recorded 12 points (4-of-10 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds and one three-pointer in Thursday's loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: Having struggled with injuries throughout his professional career, Liddell is playing with the Nuggets in hopes of earning another opportunity. He played well on Thursday, as his dunk with just over five seconds remaining gave Denver a two-point lead. Unfortunately for Liddell, he ended up on the wrong end of the game's final shot, with Jamaree Bouyea hitting a three over the forward's outstretched hand as time expired. Liddell is not a fantasy target regardless of league size, but his goal is to grab a team's attention and earn a contract.
Hunter Tyson
Hunter Tyson posts 12 points, 11 rebounds vs. MIL
Thu, Jul 10, 2025, 5:55 PM
Hunter Tyson amassed 12 points (4-of-14 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one three-pointer in Thursday's loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: While Tyson did not have his best night shooting the basketball, he did finish the one-point defeat with a double-double. After appearing in 18 games as a rookie, the 2023 second-round pick made 51 appearances for the Nuggets last season. Denver's addition of Jonas Valan?i?nas strengthens their frontcourt rotation, likely making it more challenging for Tyson to offer statistical value after playing sparingly in his first two seasons.
Nikola Jokic
Report: Jokic won't sign extension this summer
Tue, Jul 8, 2025, 12:39 PM
Bennett Durando
The Denver Post's Bennett Durando reports Nikola Jokic won't sign an extension with the Nuggets this offseason.
Analysis: There's no need to panic and get out the trade machine. Delaying an extension until next summer could allow him to make roughly an extra $80 million. This isn't Jokic giving Denver an ultimatum to put more talent around him or he's going to ask out; it's simply a wise financial decision.
Jonas Valanciunas
Shams: DEN expects Valan?i?nas to honor contract
Sun, Jul 6, 2025, 10:53 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets expect Jonas Valan?i?nas to honor his contract and play for the team next season.
Analysis: Needing to upgrade their backup center situation, the Nuggets acquired Valan?i?nas from the Kings in exchange for Dario Šari?. However, on Thursday, it was reported by BasketNews that the veteran center was considering a move to Europe to play for Greek power Panathinaikos. Valan?i?nas is under contract with the Nuggets, so he would require a buyout to move to Greece. According to Charania, the Nuggets view JV as a key component for next season, so he'll have to fulfill the requirements of his contract. Playing behind Nikola Joki? limits Valan?i?nas' fantasy value, but he'll have “real” value to a team that hopes to contend for a championship.
Jonas Valanciunas
Report: Valan?i?nas considering return to Europe
Thu, Jul 3, 2025, 10:42 AM
BasketNews
BasketNews reports Jonas Valan?i?nas is considering a return to Europe to play for Panathinaikos.
Analysis: Reportedly acquired from the Kings in exchange for Dario Šari?, it's reportedly possible that Valan?i?nas will not suit up for the Nuggets in 2025-26. According to BasketNews, Greek power Panathinaikos has offered the veteran center a three-year, €12 million contract. Should he remain in the NBA, Valan?i?nas will make nearly $10.4 million with the Nuggets, but the final year of his deal (2026-27) is not guaranteed. The Nuggets appeared to have shored up their backup center position with the Valan?i?nas trade, but they'll be forced to return to the drawing board if he decides to return to Europe to continue his career.
Tim Hardaway
Shams: DEN signs Tim Hardaway Jr. to one-year deal
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 10:44 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets signed Tim Hardaway Jr. to a one-year deal.
Analysis: On Tuesday, Denver added another shooter to its roster, reportedly signing Hardaway to a one-year deal. In his first and only season with the Pistons, the veteran guard was a fixture in the starting lineup. Making 77 appearances, all starts, Hardaway averaged 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.2 three-pointers per game, shooting nearly 37 percent from three. THJ's scoring average decreased compared to his 2023-24 production with the Mavericks, but he's a capable shooter who should provide the Nuggets with solid value off the bench.
Jonas Valanciunas
Shams: Nuggets acquire Valanciunas via trade
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 6:02 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets have acquired C Jonas Valanciunas from the Kings in exchange for C Dario Saric.
Analysis: While Valanciunas' production has declined over the last three years, the 33-year-old center has proven that he's still durable appearing in 79, 82 and 81 games. After a midseason trade to the Kings last year, he adequately filled in for Domantas Sabonis while he dealt with injury. Valanciunas could offer the Nuggets similar big man insurance and have fantasy streaming value on nights Nikola Jokic takes off.
Bruce Brown
Shams: Nuggets sign Bruce Brown to one-year deal
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 1:25 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets signed G/F Bruce Brown to a one-year deal.
Analysis: Brown, a solid contributor off the bench for the Nuggets' title team in 2023, is headed back to the Mile High City. He'll be on a one-year contract, and the role should be similar, especially with the Nuggets acquiring Cam Johnson from the Nets. Despite coming off the bench, Brown provided consistent fantasy value in Denver, but the last two seasons have been disappointing. He's unlikely to be a player worth selecting in standard league drafts, but there may come a point when he's a valuable waiver wire addition.
Cameron Johnson
Nuggets acquire Cam Johnson from Brooklyn
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 1:13 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets acquired F Cam Johnson from the Nets in exchange for F Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick.
Analysis: Johnson has been a popular trade target for some time due to his two-way ability on the wing. Denver was able to make Brooklyn an offer it could not refuse, upgrading their wing rotation. While their scoring averages were similar, Johnson is also a capable three-point shooter and provides more value defensively. Also, the trade frees up additional cap space for the Nuggets as they look to challenge Oklahoma City for Western Conference supremacy. Johnson's fantasy value may take a slight hit playing alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, but not much, since he'll be a fixture in Denver's starting lineup.
Russell Westbrook
Report: Westbrook, Knicks have mutual interest
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 10:44 AM
Ian Begley
Ian Begley of SNY reported there will be mutual interest between Russell Westbrook and the Knicks when free agency opens.
Analysis: The Knicks are one of several teams expected to be interested in Westbrook. The 36-year-old point guard had a bounce back season with the Nuggets averaging 13.3 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game and 6.1 assists per game. The Knicks have the $5 million tax-payer exception and the veteran's minimum exception to offer free agents.
Reece Beekman
Report: Reece Beekman to play for Nuggets SL team
Sat, Jun 28, 2025, 11:26 AM
Tony Jones
According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, the Nuggets have signed Reece Beekman to a Summer League contract.
Analysis: One day after it was reported the Nuggets would not retain Trey Alexander, they will reportedly use Summer League to evaluate another guard with prior NBA experience. Beekman began last season with the Warriors before being traded to Brooklyn as part of the Dennis Schröder transaction in mid-December. The former Virginia standout appeared in 34 games for the Nets, averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 13.7 minutes.
Dario Saric
Stein: Dario Å ari? exercises player option
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 7:12 AM
Marc Stein
NBA insider Marc Stein reports that Dario Å ari? has exercised his player option for the 2025-26 season.
Analysis: While Russell Westbrook decided to decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent, Å ari? made a different decision. Unsurprisingly, the veteran forward/center has picked up his option, which is worth approximately $5.4 million, and will remain with the Nuggets for the 2025-26 season. Even on the occasions when Denver was without Nikola Joki?, Saric did not do enough to merit being considered as a streamer in fantasy leagues. Å ari? only appeared in 16 games in 2024-25, and hasn't averaged over 20 minutes a game since 2019-2020.
