E.J. Liddell
E.J. Liddell grabs 11 rebounds vs. Milwaukee
Thu, Jul 10, 2025, 6:05 PM
E.J. Liddell recorded 12 points (4-of-10 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds and one three-pointer in Thursday's loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: Having struggled with injuries throughout his professional career, Liddell is playing with the Nuggets in hopes of earning another opportunity. He played well on Thursday, as his dunk with just over five seconds remaining gave Denver a two-point lead. Unfortunately for Liddell, he ended up on the wrong end of the game's final shot, with Jamaree Bouyea hitting a three over the forward's outstretched hand as time expired. Liddell is not a fantasy target regardless of league size, but his goal is to grab a team's attention and earn a contract.
Hunter Tyson
Hunter Tyson posts 12 points, 11 rebounds vs. MIL
Thu, Jul 10, 2025, 5:55 PM
Hunter Tyson amassed 12 points (4-of-14 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one three-pointer in Thursday's loss to the Bucks.
Analysis: While Tyson did not have his best night shooting the basketball, he did finish the one-point defeat with a double-double. After appearing in 18 games as a rookie, the 2023 second-round pick made 51 appearances for the Nuggets last season. Denver's addition of Jonas Valan?i?nas strengthens their frontcourt rotation, likely making it more challenging for Tyson to offer statistical value after playing sparingly in his first two seasons.
Nikola Jokic
Report: Jokic won't sign extension this summer
Tue, Jul 8, 2025, 12:39 PM
Bennett Durando
The Denver Post's Bennett Durando reports Nikola Jokic won't sign an extension with the Nuggets this offseason.
Analysis: There's no need to panic and get out the trade machine. Delaying an extension until next summer could allow him to make roughly an extra $80 million. This isn't Jokic giving Denver an ultimatum to put more talent around him or he's going to ask out; it's simply a wise financial decision.
Jonas Valanciunas
Shams: DEN expects Valan?i?nas to honor contract
Sun, Jul 6, 2025, 10:53 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets expect Jonas Valan?i?nas to honor his contract and play for the team next season.
Analysis: Needing to upgrade their backup center situation, the Nuggets acquired Valan?i?nas from the Kings in exchange for Dario Šari?. However, on Thursday, it was reported by BasketNews that the veteran center was considering a move to Europe to play for Greek power Panathinaikos. Valan?i?nas is under contract with the Nuggets, so he would require a buyout to move to Greece. According to Charania, the Nuggets view JV as a key component for next season, so he'll have to fulfill the requirements of his contract. Playing behind Nikola Joki? limits Valan?i?nas' fantasy value, but he'll have “real” value to a team that hopes to contend for a championship.
Jonas Valanciunas
Report: Valan?i?nas considering return to Europe
Thu, Jul 3, 2025, 10:42 AM
BasketNews
BasketNews reports Jonas Valan?i?nas is considering a return to Europe to play for Panathinaikos.
Analysis: Reportedly acquired from the Kings in exchange for Dario Šari?, it's reportedly possible that Valan?i?nas will not suit up for the Nuggets in 2025-26. According to BasketNews, Greek power Panathinaikos has offered the veteran center a three-year, €12 million contract. Should he remain in the NBA, Valan?i?nas will make nearly $10.4 million with the Nuggets, but the final year of his deal (2026-27) is not guaranteed. The Nuggets appeared to have shored up their backup center position with the Valan?i?nas trade, but they'll be forced to return to the drawing board if he decides to return to Europe to continue his career.
Tim Hardaway
Shams: DEN signs Tim Hardaway Jr. to one-year deal
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 10:44 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets signed Tim Hardaway Jr. to a one-year deal.
Analysis: On Tuesday, Denver added another shooter to its roster, reportedly signing Hardaway to a one-year deal. In his first and only season with the Pistons, the veteran guard was a fixture in the starting lineup. Making 77 appearances, all starts, Hardaway averaged 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.2 three-pointers per game, shooting nearly 37 percent from three. THJ's scoring average decreased compared to his 2023-24 production with the Mavericks, but he's a capable shooter who should provide the Nuggets with solid value off the bench.
Jonas Valanciunas
Shams: Nuggets acquire Valanciunas via trade
Tue, Jul 1, 2025, 6:02 AM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets have acquired C Jonas Valanciunas from the Kings in exchange for C Dario Saric.
Analysis: While Valanciunas' production has declined over the last three years, the 33-year-old center has proven that he's still durable appearing in 79, 82 and 81 games. After a midseason trade to the Kings last year, he adequately filled in for Domantas Sabonis while he dealt with injury. Valanciunas could offer the Nuggets similar big man insurance and have fantasy streaming value on nights Nikola Jokic takes off.
Bruce Brown
Shams: Nuggets sign Bruce Brown to one-year deal
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 1:25 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets signed G/F Bruce Brown to a one-year deal.
Analysis: Brown, a solid contributor off the bench for the Nuggets' title team in 2023, is headed back to the Mile High City. He'll be on a one-year contract, and the role should be similar, especially with the Nuggets acquiring Cam Johnson from the Nets. Despite coming off the bench, Brown provided consistent fantasy value in Denver, but the last two seasons have been disappointing. He's unlikely to be a player worth selecting in standard league drafts, but there may come a point when he's a valuable waiver wire addition.
Cameron Johnson
Nuggets acquire Cam Johnson from Brooklyn
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 1:13 PM
Shams Charania
ESPN's Shams Charania reports the Nuggets acquired F Cam Johnson from the Nets in exchange for F Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick.
Analysis: Johnson has been a popular trade target for some time due to his two-way ability on the wing. Denver was able to make Brooklyn an offer it could not refuse, upgrading their wing rotation. While their scoring averages were similar, Johnson is also a capable three-point shooter and provides more value defensively. Also, the trade frees up additional cap space for the Nuggets as they look to challenge Oklahoma City for Western Conference supremacy. Johnson's fantasy value may take a slight hit playing alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, but not much, since he'll be a fixture in Denver's starting lineup.
Russell Westbrook
Report: Westbrook, Knicks have mutual interest
Mon, Jun 30, 2025, 10:44 AM
Ian Begley
Ian Begley of SNY reported there will be mutual interest between Russell Westbrook and the Knicks when free agency opens.
Analysis: The Knicks are one of several teams expected to be interested in Westbrook. The 36-year-old point guard had a bounce back season with the Nuggets averaging 13.3 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game and 6.1 assists per game. The Knicks have the $5 million tax-payer exception and the veteran's minimum exception to offer free agents.
Dario Saric
Stein: Dario Å ari? exercises player option
Sun, Jun 22, 2025, 7:12 AM
Marc Stein
NBA insider Marc Stein reports that Dario Å ari? has exercised his player option for the 2025-26 season.
Analysis: While Russell Westbrook decided to decline his player option and become an unrestricted free agent, Å ari? made a different decision. Unsurprisingly, the veteran forward/center has picked up his option, which is worth approximately $5.4 million, and will remain with the Nuggets for the 2025-26 season. Even on the occasions when Denver was without Nikola Joki?, Saric did not do enough to merit being considered as a streamer in fantasy leagues. Å ari? only appeared in 16 games in 2024-25, and hasn't averaged over 20 minutes a game since 2019-2020.
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook to decline option, become UFA
Fri, Jun 13, 2025, 7:42 AM
Marc Stein
NBA reporter Marc Stein reports that Russell Westbrook will decline his $3.5 million player option for next season and become an unrestricted free agent on June 30.
Analysis: Westy enjoyed a productive season with Denver, logging just under 28 minutes per game across 75 appearances. Since leaving Oklahoma City, Westbrook has played for five teams in six seasons, and he'll look to latch on with another squad this summer. Given his age, the veteran will likely look for a contender.
Russell Westbrook
Westbrook undergoes surgery on right hand
Tue, May 27, 2025, 6:59 AM
Law Murray
Russell Westbrook announced that he underwent surgery on his right hand on Tuesday.
Analysis: Westbrook was on the injury report for Game 7 against the Thunder with a hand injury, and he announced that the surgery will repair two breaks in his right hand. There's no reason to think this will impact his status ahead of training camp, but it does help justify his struggles over the final five games of Denver's series against Oklahoma City. Westbrook has a $3.5 million player option and could choose to run things back with the Nuggets for another season.
Michael Porter
Michael Porter Jr. scores six points in finale
Sun, May 18, 2025, 12:18 PM
Michael Porter Jr. shot 3-of-8 from the field in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Thunder, scoring six points with three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 23 minutes.
Analysis: Give Porter credit for playing through the left shoulder injury he suffered during the first round. Unfortunately for the Nuggets, he struggled in this series outside of a 21-point effort in Game 3. Remove his 5-of-6 effort from beyond the arc in that overtime victory, and Porter was 4-of-30 from three. Game 3 was also the only contest in which Porter surpassed 10 points and was one of two games where he scored in double figures. We'll likely receive a more definitive answer regarding the severity of Porter's shoulder injury in the coming days, now that Denver's season is over. And the Nuggets' front office (whoever is hired to be the new lead executive) will have some questions to answer this offseason regarding the roster makeup. Despite his perceived upside, MPJ has mainly been a middle-round player in standard leagues during his NBA career. Fantasy managers can expect more of the same in 2025-26.
Christian Braun
Christian Braun contributes 19 points in Game 7
Sun, May 18, 2025, 12:11 PM
Christian Braun recorded 19 points (7-of-14 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two three-pointers in 33 minutes in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: After providing limited offensive value in the first five games of the series, Braun upped his production in the final two games. While it wasn't enough to help the Nuggets advance, the third-year guard's play should encourage the front office heading into the offseason. In Games 6 and 7, Braun scored 42 points on 15-of-28 shooting from the field, and he was also responsible for 15 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and five three-pointers. During the regular season, Braun exceeded his Yahoo! ADP (133) by a significant margin, as he was nearly a top-50 player in nine-cat formats and ranked just outside the top 75 in eight-cat. He should be a top-100 pick in standard league drafts next fall.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) grabs 11 rebounds Sunday
Sun, May 18, 2025, 12:08 PM
Aaron Gordon (hamstring) finished Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Thunder with eight points (2-of-4 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), 11 rebounds and one three-pointer in 25 minutes.
Analysis: Dealing with what was reported as a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Gordon shocked many by playing in Sunday's game. Give him credit for attempting to play through the injury, and early on, it appeared as if the Thunder weren't willing to test Gordon's health thoroughly. While effective as a rebounder, the Nuggets forward could not provide much else in his 25 minutes on the court. The defeat gives Gordon time to recover from his hamstring injury, and he should be good to go when training camp opens in September. Gordon has primarily been a late-round player in Denver, and that's unlikely to change in 2025-26, even with his improvement as a perimeter shooter this season.
Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray limited to 13 points in Game 7 defeat
Sun, May 18, 2025, 12:07 PM
Jamal Murray accumulated 13 points (6-of-16 FGs), one rebound, two assists, three steals, one block and one three-pointer in 35 minutes in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: Initially probable for Sunday's game due to illness, Murray was a shell of himself in Game 7. He shot 1-of-8 from beyond the arc and offered little value outside of reaching double digits in points. After scoring 25 points or more in three of the four games prior, Murray likely expected more of himself with Denver's season on the line. From a fantasy standpoint, this was an excellent season for the Nuggets guard. Entering the season with a Yahoo! ADP of 54, he was a top-25 player in eight-cat and top-20 in nine-cat formats. That should boost Murray's ADP heading into drafts next fall, likely making him a player to target late in the third round of standard-league drafts.
Nikola Jokic
Nikola Jokic drops 20/9/7 line in series finale
Sun, May 18, 2025, 12:06 PM
Nikola Jokic accounted for 20 points (5-of-9 FGs, 9-of-11 FTs), nine rebounds, seven assists and one three-pointer in 37 minutes in Sunday's Game 7 loss to the Thunder.
Analysis: Jokic and the Nuggets ran out of gas against one of the NBA's deepest teams, with things turning in the second quarter. Leading by five entering the period, Denver was outscored by a 39-20 margin, thanks partially to Oklahoma City's strategy adjustment. They went small, using Alex Caruso on Jokic, and the move worked. While some may argue that the Thunder guard was allowed to be a bit more physical than usual, it's on the three-time MVP to adjust. It was a disappointing end for The Joker, who remained the top option in fantasy basketball this season. While Victor Wembanyama (if healthy) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will also deserve consideration for the top pick in redraft leagues, Jokic should be the preferred option for many fantasy managers.
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook, Jamal Murray good to go
Sun, May 18, 2025, 9:46 AM
NBA Injury Report
Russell Westbrook (hand) and Jamal Murray (illness) are available for Sunday's Game 7 against the Thunder.
Analysis: Westy and Murray were both listed as probable for Sunday's pivotal matchup, so it's no surprise that both will take the court. Expect both guards to handle their typical workloads.
Hunter Tyson
Hunter Tyson (ankle) available for Game 7
Sun, May 18, 2025, 9:41 AM
NBA Injury Report
Hunter Tyson (ankle) is available for Game 7 on Sunday against the Thunder.
Analysis: Tyson has been upgraded to available, but it's unlikely he sees many minutes. He's been out of Denver's rotation throughout the playoffs.
